Nothing like being cut off by a driver turning right on a red (I had the walking green), and she was staring down at her phone The. Entire. Time. As a pedestrian, it's hard to be "High Viz!" and "Make sure you make eye contact with the driver!" when the driver doesn't use THEIR eyeballs.

I interviewed Leslie Allen in November 2023 about proposed cuts to branches of the Cumberland Public Libraries. Fortunately, those cuts didn't happen. Still, libraries are too often at risk of closures and cuts.

The reconstruction of the Cogswell District is one of the best things #Halifax has done in recent years.
After four years of demolition and construction, Halifax's Cogswell Interchange redevelopment officially opened today. 🎉
I dug out the camera that I used to photograph the highway nearly 10 years ago and took an "after" pic from the same spot. It's satisfying to flip between the two photos.
