MST3K is one of the great artistic achievements of the twentieth century.

And of course episode 505 is its peak achievement.
Today in 1988 Mystery Science Theater 3000 premiered on KTMA in St. Paul Minnesota. #MST3K

It’s amazing how much potential corruption you can pack into one well-written lede.

Anyway, I especially love teaching them about Pico because the whole case was started by a bunch of high school students who demanded access to books and I want to drive home the point that they have the power to enact change, even as 18-20 year-olds.

You just know that “Did Women Ruin the Workplace?” bit would have done NUMBERS in this little clique
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

I don’t what to say about a Dem leadership that can be undone by the likes of Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen. Saying they went over Schumer’s head is not the flex people think it is.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

The AFL-CIO should start throwing some money towards labor journalism. If it was done right (i.e. with them accepting that journalists must have full editorial control over what’s published, whether or not union leaders like what they have to say) it could really have such a hugely positive impact

Jamie Raskin: all eyes are on New Jersey & TODAY is the day to show 47, his regime & their billionaires that New Jersey can’t be bought.

We know we need a Governor that will prioritize the needs of the working families of this state!

Turnout TODAY for Mikie Sherrill!

Two of the media organizations that have really "met the moment" in national coverage are Teen Vogue and WIRED.

Along with student-run college newspapers in general. And scores of local start-ups.

The main hope for journalism (in its dark times) is the next wave of journalists.
For any unfamiliar with the quality of journalism at Teen Vogue, it's well known for hard-hitting stories on "politically sensitive" topics including climate.

Then there's CBS: the only major network to increase climate coverage in the last few years. They just axed nearly their whole climate team.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Obama: "The weird videos of a US president with a crown on his head flying a fighter jet & dumping poop on American citizens - that's not even worth booing about. Because all of that is a distraction from the fact that your situation, your life has not gotten better. They do it so you won't notice"

We’re calling Virginia voters throughout this final week before Election Day. VA is our biggest test yet for our ability to out-organize Trump and MAGA at the ballot box. Help us GOTV to win a Democratic trifecta in Trump’s own backyard: indivisi.org/va-calls

I'm told that during the editorial call where Bari Weiss pitched bringing on Dan Brown to talk about The Louvre heist, CBS Mornings executive producer Shawna Thomas chimed in to correct her, saying "I think its more The Thomas Crown Affair."
