We are seeing not just a merging of different parts of the armed forces; we are also seeing a deprofessionalization. Competent people are fired. Those willing to break the law are hired. Normal practices are abandoned as the new force becomes more responsive to the demand for quotas & brutalization.
Experts warn this aggressive approach will likely fuel greater abuses of civil and human rights, heighten public anger and lead to more warrantless arrests, straying far from the previous stated focus on “the worst of the worst.” “Spectacle, not security.” www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/02/b...

Nevermind, I did it.
I finally beat the Last Judge, then she exploded and killed me and I swear to God I think I gripped my controller so hard I cracked it a little.

Fuck this game

I'll go back tomorrow maybe

I really can't think of anything I want less from my computer than to have to talk to it.

It's bad enough trying to troubleshoot a PC issue via MS knowledge articles and dubious reddit posts. I can't imagine adding yet another layer of obfuscation on top of that.

Hard pass
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

We found immigration agents have held more than 170 *citizens*

The govt doesn't track citizens held. So we did. We tallied:

Nearly 20 kids, two w/ cancer

More than 20 citizens held for day or more, incommunicado

The Nazis used the concept of "plenary power"—or complete, absolute authority—to legally dismantle Germany's democracy and establish a dictatorship. The Enabling Act of 1933 was the key piece of legislation that granted these powers to Adolf Hitler and his cabinet.

I have no idea what kind of #bird this is. I took the shot at the riparian preserve in Gilbert #AZ. This guy was probably two feet tall, not including leg, just hanging out on a branch in the early morning light.

the entire media ecosystem is just not built or ready for events like this and far right billionaires like larry ellison buying news orgs will only make this worse
