I have been working on a new USA Soccer stat hub for a couple of months now in Tableau, as I grew increasingly dissatisfied with what I put together at the start of 2025. It's *finally* ready for public consumption. The images here don't show the half of it:

Mexico’s U17s fall in the group stage of the U17 World Cup. This tournament has been a disaster for CONCACAF, and hopefully this will lead to a reconsideration of the non-competitive qualifying process that saw most teams play 0 challenging or meaningful games.

NYCFC survives Charlotte’s best game of the series with 3 of the grittiest counter goals you’ll ever see.

Now the question will be if they have anything left in the next round

Stupid and frankly disrespectful of Apple to show the replay of Perea’s injury

Despite being firmly under attack the entire half, somehow NYCFC is up 1-0 at halftime.

It’s a weird sport 🤷🏻‍♂️
NYCFC look totally taken off guard by the high press of Charlotte. Going to have to survive this and get their feet under them

NEW: North Carolina FC became a model of mid-market operation in the U.S. lower divisions. On Tuesday, they joined a lengthy list of former clubs.

On the former Carolina RailHawks, and questions about the USL's plan to add more jeopardy to its ecosystem. jeffrueter.substack.com/p/so-long-sw...
So long, sweet RailHawk.

Guimaraes has had latitude to move into midfield and attack for OCSC this season, too. He's scored four goals across USL-C and USL Cup games.

The final was 1-0 USA; a fair result, but could easily have gone the other way. Cavan Sullivan provided a spark and the goal. With some 3rd place teams advancing, an opening win lets the USA take a huge breath and spend the rest of the group stage working on playing together as a team.
The most interesting tactical wrinkle from the USA U17s is how they are bringing in left back Pedro Guimaraes into the midfield.

Hasn't done much on the attacking end as Albert and Carrizo both want to play inside, so the left side of the attack hasn't had much overlap.

0-0 at half.

This kind of news is a real surprise coming from one of the most stable organizations in the league
CF Montréal says assistant coach Maxime Leconte "has been relieved of his coaching duties effective immediately following an internal disciplinary process. ... For confidentiality reasons, the Club will have no further comment on this matter."

This is really good writing about using data to communicate, and hits some of the things I don’t like about the ways soccer statistics are created and used

NYCFC's own Maximo Carrizo with the start and the armband for the USA.

5 of the 11 (Hall, Carrizo, Berchimas, Cupps, and Sanchez) have made full MLS debuts already.

USA U17s kick off their World Cup today against Burkina Faso at 10:15.

It's exciting to see these prospects, but the fact that CONCACAF currently has a -20 goal difference across 5 games (all losses) of this World Cup is concerning. Tough to know for sure just what we have.

NYCFC made a big push, but way too late, and now they’re in a place where Kahlina can win the day for Charlotte.

Jansen probably set up wrong for this one; Charlotte was not particularly threatening for the second game in a row, but neither were NYC for most of it.

I have this weird feeling that the Sorgut hire might be a decent one. Now, it’s still a crazy left field move but DCU lose to the normal teams on the field if they follow the same script.

Sorgut is an oddball, sure, but from what little I’ve seen he’s informed and open minded to other ideas.
