I write things. And direct things. When I’m not doing that I like to cook things, and play with fire trucks.
Happy place.

Super late to the party, but Rogue One, and Andor Season 1 - excellent. The only consolation for getting close to the end of S1 is that S2 is right around the corner.

Ok, Adolescence - no spoilers. There has been heaps of chatter about how good the young lead is especially given it’s his first acting role. First couple of ep’s, I’m like, yeah, ok, he’s fine. I’m now on Ep 3…WOW. If you’re not there yet, it’s something to look forward to.

My cat.

21 years old.
Yells at me constantly
Yells before eating.
Yells after eating.
Yells VERY early in the morning.
Yells on a whim.
Just…yells.

And I’ll be wrecked when she’s gone.

I’m no fan of Labor here, I was prepared to hear Dutton out….but….to hear him praise Trump as a ‘big thinker’ with his absurd Gaza statements shows that Dutton is disingenuous, toadying, and more importantly thinks you, me, and all Australian voters are easily swayed idiots. What an asshole.

OpenAI moaning that Deepseek infringed on their IP/copyright by using Open AI’s model to train the Deepseek model is….perfection. Gosh, imagine someone just helping themselves to the fruits of your labor without compensating you 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been reading ‘The Let Them Theory’. It’s not new, it’s not ‘original’, it’s not things you’ve not heard before - and it is excellent. Solid reminders of principals you know with practical tips to enact them in your life. Give it a go.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

My beautiful old boy left me in Feb.
I disposed of his food bowl today.
I can still see the mark where it sat on the deck.
Still raw.

I have a terrible dilemma - it’s a rainy weekend and I’m on S3Ep4 of ‘From’.

I have a valid meteorological excuse to finish it this weekend…but then…it’s done…

Fortuna has frowned upon me.
Ignatius would understand.

Three years ago, a man on Texas death row asked a prison spokesman if I could be the reporter to witness his execution

The man was John Ramirez. I'd never met or written him before – but that request eventually led to several stories and a 3-year film project that is finally out this week. Thread:
