I’m grateful today for all the resources delivered by Medicaid and The Department of Education to help with my grandson’s autism. The journey is hard and I stand in support of all those families struggling in this chaos when all they want is what’s best for their child.

Editing is fun. Like when you realise your character who was in a car is suddenly in a kitchen and you’re like wait hold up 🤣

With these unfair tariffs, there’s never been a better time to buy and support Canadians—including Canadian authors like me. 🇨🇦

You can find my books on online retailers. I write all genres, and when you buy my books, you support and uplift my Canadian voice, something the world needs right now. 🇨🇦

Working with a rude, condescending editor who never had a positive thing to say nearly broke me. I even considered giving up writing.

I love writing, but man, the publishing industry can be really heartbreaking.

Now is the time to buy a T-shirt, then go for a walk.

I wore my Be Kind- It’s Really Not That Hard sweatshirt to the grocery store yesterday and I had so many people stop me and say yes, love it.

It’s a reminder that there are so many of us out there. It’s a sign not to despair.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. #766: Writing is a community. Participate in it if you can. Engage with other writers. Lift them up, and they’ll do the same. Try to go it alone, or treat other writers as rivals, and you’re more likely to sink than swim.

the audacity of Word dropping a little 'copilot' icon into my document without asking to 'help me write' or what ever, while their in-line dictionary puts little red wiggles under 'aubergine'

Few romance novels are just about the romance.

Am I the only one who cannot begin to deal with this Co-pilot bullshit from Microsoft?! That stupid thing that’s always where I want to work?! I managed to kill it in Word but it must die in Excel and I can’t find the kill switch.

Did we not all tell them stop when the Paperclip was intrusive?!

The dangerous method to Trump madness is becoming clear. He takes the craziest right wing position. Soaks up all the MSM attention. Then walks it back to soothe the hostile blowback . Soaks up all the attention again. Rinse repeat. He craves only attention.

I spent all morning yesterday fiddling with a new idea for my Insta stories - basically read this then that. I noted I tend to write connecting couple books.

But book promo is a HUGE time suck. Still, it’s always a thrill to see the fruits of my writing labor. Oh, I wrote too - 1042 words.

Unsolicited writing advice, no #7262:
When you're editing a project, try changing the font before you start. It tricks your brain into seeing your words anew, making it easier to spot typos or areas that might need work.

Writer advice: I’ve used Word for my creative work since Windows 95. 🙃

Do not use Word for grammar/comma advice. All Word does is confuse your understanding with wrong advice. There are better apps that will list the rules by each sentence you ask about & make recommendations.

A gentle reminder that you should always resist the temptation to tag a creative person into a negative review of their work. It doesn't matter what your intentions are, it's kind of an asshole maneuver. You are free to say whatever you like, of course. Making it their problem, however, is not kind.

How do you start a book?

I start every project with a synopsis-style paragraph of the #storyidea. I focus on who, what, when, where, and why, and themes. It's much easier to write the back cover blurb later, when the rough draft of the #synopsis already exists.

I've #written 20K in three days, of the sweetest, spiciest couple interactions ever. (I may be half in love with my MMC too. We both adore him!)

The problem? I don't know which #book these two belong in. They popped in my head and started yapping.

It feels all wrong and right at the same time.
