I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Rep. Andy Ogles, a Republican from Tennessee, has sent a letter to Pam Bondi calling for Zohran Mamdani to be stripped of his citizenship and deported.

Curtis Sliwa, the Republican candidate for mayor in NYC, reminds me a lot of Vincent D'Onofrio's character in Daredevil, which isn't necessarily a good thing.

Drunk texting national security secrets is some kind of weird flex. This can't be real.

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance.

Democracy requires your courage.

Turns out the only parts of the constitution that matter are the ones that let you shoot guns and use racial slurs. I should have seen this coming.

Someone should do a wellness check on Donald Trump and investigate Elon for elder abuse.

I installed 5 calls to help regularly bothering my representatives. It's more productive than scrolling here, uninstalling this for a bit.

Anyone do a wellness check on their high school civics teacher?

The school had a fundraiser where the kids sold frozen pizzas from a local restaurant and I was a pizza delivery driver tonight. I like it better when they sell candy, because my involvement is to immediately eat candy.

Normal things still happen. And I am boring.

At least the boy didn't clear off my car with a shovel this time. We're learning.
I'm surprised there isn't a meme of Ralph Wiggum shoveling snow.

I watched the Grammys a bit tonight. I heard some names that I recognized but not necessarily music I have heard before. I'm not sure that I am at the target market.

On the one hand I'm impressed with the increase in code quality written by the latest LLMs.

On the other hand, I'm terrified of the fact that the industry I've worked in for decades is eating its own tail- just before it comes for the rest of you.

I'm deeply cynical about everything now and I hate it.

Everyone is still talking about Deepseek but I was less impressed by the cost when I learned it is partially trained on ChatGPT output. Of course it's cheaper.

School superintendent sent along guidance from the Attorney General on ICE:

"In the event that an ICE agent asks to question or remove a student from their classroom, schools must obtain the specific, informed written consent of a parent or guardian or be provided with a valid, judicial warrant.."

If only I could solve all problems by going to the hardware store and asking the old man what I'm supposed to do. Home ownership is fun.

I finished American Primeval last night. It's kind of haunting, but mostly historically accurate. Some early Mormons did some dark stuff.

Obviously I continued to make good choices for my mental health. Today is another day.

I forgot that we get trolled every day during a Trump presidency. Elon's salute is just the beginning.

Ugh. Fine.
You’re all about to be gaslit about that Nazi salute and I’m begging you to spend no time on it. You know what you saw.
