I believe most of the criticisms of FIRE (what the are strident about, what they soft peddle) are accurate and a real problem, but this is unequivocally good from them and deserves kudos.
Today FIRE wrote to a group of Trump administration officials demanding answers about the detention of Mahmoud Khalil, which appears straight out of an authoritarian playbook utterly repugnant to free speech and due process.
