I've just updated the available cats page, we have some REALLY special kitties in and some of them have been waiting ages. Their forever home might be on your timeline, please share? 🥰
Moggies looking for homes
After hearing 50,000 times that we should put the available cats on the website, we’ve made a page! Hooray! However, it is still just me doing most of the work in the shelter. So there’…

Sigh! It's DNS once more. Even the Pets at Home website isn't working. All I wanted was a scratching post but thanks to Microsoft, Timmy will have to use the carpet again...

Just because they play around with the clocks twice a year, it doesn't change my body clock. So yes, I've been up since 4.30. Sigh!

Honey, who was sold for £400 in a car park and turned out to be both pregnant and epileptic, has single-pawedly spent our whole operations fund. Help please? 😬
Our operations fund disappeared overnight
We recently took in a beautiful British shorthair called Honey who was sold for £400 in a car park. Her new owner quickly found that she was a) pregnant and b) epileptic. She gave birth to 10 kittens, of which 8 survived. When they'd all been sold, her new owner decided she didn't want her anymore because of her (untreated!) seizures. And so she came to us. We took her to the vets and ordered some phenobarbital, which we've used with great success on two other epileptic cats. However, before it came in, poor Honey had a severe seizure and then two more in the space of a day. Our fosterer took her to the emergency vet, where she had to be kept in on an IV to get her phenobarbital level up quickly to stop the seizures. She's recovering beautifully, but her treatment has completely emptied our bank account, and we had quite a few operations planned that we still need to do: - Lemon, an old lady found on the street needs a full dental and a scan to find out why she's so wheezy - Thomasina, another golden oldie stray, needs a full dental now she's stable on her thyroid meds - Lenny, who spent 2 years wobbling on the streets, needs his neuter and jabs - Sabrina, who survived the panleukopenia that killed her kittens, needs her spay and jabs - Kirby, a sweet grey wobbler, needs his neuter and jabs - Boots, a handsome orange boy who recently spent his 14th birthday outside as his owners didn't want him anymore, needs a fair bit of treatment, plus a birthday party! If you can help with any of this, we would hugely appreciate it. I'm taking some of my jewellery to be sold at the weekend but I don't think it's worth very much unfortunately. I'm really glad we could help stop Honey's constant scary, debilitating seizures, so I know we did the right thing. It's just that the others have been waiting so patiently for their treatment so they can find wonderful new homes, and I don't want to let them down. Thank you. Love Holly and the moggies x

What is wrong with the ladybirds today? They've gone completely psycho. They've smashed into me every few seconds and the windows are covered in them. Also going crazy are the cowslips. They really shouldn't be flowering now.

It’s 7.25 now and getting dark and the AA are still not here.
Apparently they will be another 25mins.

Do not use the AA if you are a woman who travels alone.
After holding on the phone for half an hour they’ve said they’ll get to me by 7.25pm. I asked the AA guy if he thought this was acceptable, if he would be happy for his daughter or sister or mum to be treated as I have after a car accident. He refused to answer.

Every decent politician should be ‘disturbed’ by Tommy Robinson’s fascist march in London and Musk’s calls for violence on our streets.
Every decent politician should stop claiming this horror is an expression of ‘free speech’.
It’s vicious, racist incitement.
DO something about it.

Unite the Kingdom protestors my arse! They're just a mob of rent-a-thugs. They are the ones who make me feel afraid on the streets, not immigrants.

Say it again, and again, and again. They are not "illegal immigrants".

-seeking asylum is legal and has been since 1951.

This legally trumps all arguments of “but they arrived by illegal means”. That’s just a fact. That’s why you don’t see asylum seekers arrested & charged. Our MSM must do better.

Hopefully the government reshuffle will keep Farage lower down the news items than usual. Too much to hope for that he'll disappear altogether.

Reform will need a bigger barrel to fit in all the rotten apples they are accumulating. And they will also need to hide the keys to the drinks cabinet.

I'm far more frightened to see a man draped in a flag walk towards me than any immigrant. But then, I've only ever been violently assaulted by a white man so maybe I'm biased.

Once all the migrants have been processed and the hotels emptied, who will the mindless mobs turn their wrath on next? Some of them seem to treat protesting as a hobby. Maybe they miss the days of football violence.

Just when you think Reform couldn't out themselves as more incompetent I see this little nugget. 🤣
This is just next level insanity.

In January this year, Reform picked Sharon Carby, aged 70, from Bradford, to run as their Croydon Mayoral candidate.

There was just one rather significant problem.

She had sadly died in July 2024.

I wonder if Farage has actually thought through what becoming PM would mean. He'd have to work, an alien concept to him. No swanning off to the US or the pub, showing up to parliamentary sessions etc
He couldn't cope with being an MP so there's no chance he'd manage being PM!

I don’t want to be too shrill about this but I think the BBC, ITV and Sky have disgraced themselves in their coverage of the anti-refugee protests. A massive failure of judgement. But now we know the next time a progressive protest “isn’t news” that it’s nothing to do with numbers

Now, keep it going! We have until Friday.
