Listening to the latest @passportirish.bsky.social on Cromwell and the description of Drogheda, and thinking that at least some of those involved likely got slaughtered in Hugh Dubh O’Neill’s killing field at Clonmel.

I was first told about Clonmel by a tour guide in Cahir castle. Unforgettable.

I listened to the @passportirish.bsky.social episode on Cromwell this morning, and a couple thoughts struck me.

1) Genocide is about real estate.

2) Being the victim of a genocide does nothing to prevent you from becoming a participant in a genocide.
