Her best friend is Toad, a cat-shaped familiar with a snarky (but loveable) attitude. Her chronic illness makes life challenging, but her journey is full of heart and humor. Despite a past riddled with heartbreak, she falls in love with a charismatic thief. Snippet: “Hmph. Really, Linatta? Everyone who wears them is untrustworthy.” Despite Linatta’s best efforts to lock away the name, it slipped from her mouth, “Charly never wore hats.
