My brief thoughts on "Death by Lightning" -- the new Netflix series about the assassination of James Garfield, based on the book "Destiny of the Republic" by Candice Millard, one of the most entertaining historical novelists of our era.

Top of my mind: superb casting.

Is it just me or is the latest release of InDesign like ....nonfunctional?? I can't get it open without dumping prefs and I also can't get a save dialog box to render. Which pretty much means I can't use it. Remote desktop guy has been trying to resolve for 30 mins now 🤦🏼 #designerproblems

These are .... the coolest. 🤯
I was shown C. F. Payne's state bird paintings and they're amazing.

Just dropped this and several other originals and prints off at Arvada Center for their Holiday Market. I can't wait to go back and see the show all set up, it was positively buzzing with artsy energy today in the main gallery! The show opens Thanksgiving weekend and runs thru Dec 14 😍

There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

*If all goes by the regular schedule

I couldn't NOT buy the Jolene shirt. But I get it stuck in my head every time I look in the mirror 🤪 Good thing it's such a banger.

The economy for many Coloradans, like Northglenn resident Aubrey Hix, is tough these days.

“My utilities have gone up, homeowners' insurance has gone up, auto insurance has gone up,” said Hix as she sat on her back deck with her dog Rooney. "It's all costing more. And this is just one more thing.”
Prices through marketplace health insurance could double as government shutdown dispute digs in
Colorado resident Aubrey Hix, an independent contractor, said her health insurance costs could still skyrocket despite not depending on subsidies.

Yes yes everything's falling apart but it's Friday and here's a bee! I love her. This is a small commission I'm in the middle of, in gouache and colored pencil on toned paper. 🤩 #art #wip #bee

Love this story. And it's basically what my new pastor preached today 🤩 Longer tables, less fences.

Had a great, meditative morning sketching session at @denverbotanic.bsky.social this morning with other @rmsbartists.bsky.social members! I drew Lions paw, which I had not noticed before. Super cute bright orange floofballs. #pleinair #sketchbook #botanical #art

Came back after dinner to try to block more shapes in. A bit more to go before I will refund. Haven't decided if I will add a background color or leave the underpainting, I kind of dig it... #botanicalart #gouache #paintsky

Finished printing this edition of 20 slugbugs full of sunflowers 😊 Meet "Helianthus annuus x Bug" , second in my silly little series. Cranfield safewash ink in 3 colors on translucent Thai paper. #linoprint #linocut #art #printmaking

After much finagling, finally close on this little print of sunflowers in a beetle 🚗🌻 in 3 layers of lino. NOT doing a reduction print presents its own set of challenges for sure 🤪 I'll have these for sale labor day weekend with any luck! #linoprint #printmaking #sunflower #summer #yellow

My son saved seeds from a farmers market gourd he bought two years ago to make a guitar out of. We now have oodles of gourd vine on an 8 ft hoop and quite a few gourds all over 😜 Aren't they awesome?! #gardensky #birdhousegourd
