Healthcare has been buoying our jobs for a while but these numbers show that the effects of economic uncertainty, AI and Tariffs are effecting jobs across the board. The most concerning part of this is that a 7 month look back shows an accelerating trend.

Further analysis of the jobs report in July has some worrisome news. If you take out Healthcare and Social Services, the US lost jobs for the last 3 months. Industries like Manufacturing, construction and Business Services have been flat or losing jobs.

Small business applications have surged over the past 3 years. Some of this is post Covid entrepreneurship but all of it is good for jobs, the economy and small business growth.

CareerBuilder showing labor force participation still lower than 10 year average (62.5%) as unemployment remained unchanged at 3.7%. 3 year trend does show people coming back into the workforce but lack of available workers exacerbates the worker shortage problem in the market.
