My second book for the hundred-book-challange was easier than Martin. I suppose Polidori’s “The Vampire”, including the Lord Byron fragment and an afterword, is a short story. While not great, it’s a facinating step towards Stoker, Rice, and the White Wolf stuff. Well worth the time.

The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go.

We're on track.

So, 2025 has not been a great year for reading, but inspired by Philp Athans, I’ve finally set off on a 100-book challenge. Martin’s Fire and Blood has been lingering in my TBR for seven years, so this will free up both headspace and shelfspace.
Up next: Sanderson and Poledori.

Taking a break from writing. I've been writing emotional beats and references to fictional books in my story today. Fun times. #stetwalk

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

On your deathbed, you will probably not be thinking, "at least I totally owned those trolls on social media," and if you are it's unlikely there will be anyone there to hold your hand as you go
The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

After a few weeks off my manuscript, I’ve returned, now to explore the romance moments for my story. Anyone with reading recommendations, dark fantasy with romance subplots? Like Geralt and Yen, or Paul, Irulan, and Chani?

Reviewing and updating my notes today. Airport brainstorms are the best.
Writing longhand is one of the things I enjoy the most about travel. Perfect for the big questions.

In honor of Thanksgiving, I want to spend some time thanking members of the editing community who are important to me.

This list is not inclusive, and I know I'll have left folks out or listed the same person twice. This list is in no particular order. Everyone mentioned is on Bluesky.

After two weeks of some travel and only writing game notes, I’ve returned to my fiction. Still overwhelmed by my own notes, I managed some weird little dream notes of fear and doubts.
Not much, but progress.

Thinking about revisions. I'll probably focus on the stupid. Bad is subjective, so that is fine. Stupid is worse.
Still not sure if I have this figured out.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Last stretch of second playthrough. #DragonAge devs, I salute you. You made some formative and inspiring games. May future corporate overlords make better decisions. I’ll keep replaying the series for a long time.
