First Rob Reiner, and now Deputy So-and-So/Eddie Kaspbrak??? 😢

God's speed, James...
I have so much to say about James Ransone, his immense talent, the joy of working with him, his troubles, his struggles, his friendship. But I've had a long day on the road and I just want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to every one of you who reached out, called, texted, or said kind words about PJ.

This time of year is fucking hard. The holidays are a fertile ground for dark thoughts. Loneliness can drown you, even when you're surrounded by people. Take care of yourself. If you feel like you're drowning in darkness, please talk to someone. Friend, family, stranger. Anyone.

You deserve love.

Nothing says 'tis the Season like social media users quote dunking on pleas for people to seek help during an emotionally brutal season.

Heads up: detached irony is out. Being snarky to strangers doesn't make you look cool; It makes you look like just another asshole and we are full up on those.

Sounds like Avatar: Fire and Ash's gonna be treading familiar ground, but it also still sounds worth it! And know I'm gonna be seeing it more than once in theaters regardless! 😁

My Dad just told me about Rob's death. It's unreal.

The man who directed one my top five favorite movies, Stand by Me, and starred in one of my favorite Scorsese movies, The Wolf of Wall Street...dead. And murdered by his own son.

God's speed, Rob and Michele. You'll be greatly missed. 😢
The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

Going to see the first Hunger Games movie with the high school book club I was a part of, along with the book club of another school. We had the theater to ourselves for this screening, and some of us were a tad rowdy, but man, it was fun!
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

The economy is FAR WORSE than the government is acknowledging. This holiday season, if you know folks struggling, don't be afraid to leave a mystery box of groceries or some gifts from Santa for the kids on their porch. Maybe drop a grocery store gift card in their mailbox.

Be the Christmas magic.

@crobertcargill.bsky.social I remember Jim Cameron saying that The Wizard of Oz was his favorite movie; saying how magical and influential it was for him as a filmmaker.

Seven Samurai is your favorite, if I'm not mistaken. How much would you say it has influenced/informed you creatively?

As a producer I can not fathom for a second why you would want to put members of your cast and crew in the line of fire of someone with a past of sexual assault or pestery. Those people are your responsibility.

Choosing to forgive is one thing; putting people at risk is just fucking reckless.

No one is cancelled by accident. This isn't the 1950s- we're not cancelling people for being gay, using drugs, or for martial infidelity. If you have been cancelled in the 21st century, it is for hate speech and sex crimes. Full stop.

Why would ANYONE think "Yeah, but what if we brought them back?"

I'm flummoxed by the underground movement to rehab cancelled figures. There's a rumor that a studio head is planning to begin bringing cancelled people back. It's bananas. The industry has contracted, leaving writers, directors and actors scrambling for work and we're making space for sex criminals?
