There are aroallo, alloace, demi, and yes even aroace relationships in fiction that DO work and I believe CAN work in fanfiction. Hell, one of my favorite moments of aromantic coding is revealed IN THE CONTEXT of a relationship, because it LEADS with how it feels for him *as a demiromantic.*
