I believe education is the way to a better future. I bet my TBR is bigger than yours.
They should be ashamed, and I hope they lose significant enrollment over this. I understand that they were probably terrified to lose a huge amount of funding from the federal government. But this is absolutely disgusting that they threw 70 graduates/students under the bus to regain money.
What Columbia's settlement with the Trump administration means for higher education
Columbia University and the Trump administration reached a deal that restores federal funding and research grant money to the university. As part of the agreement, Columbia will pay $200 million to th...

Hey NYTimes — *now* you’re lighting the beacons? NOW?!? After months of “Sauron: Avatar Of Evil… Or Extreme Uniter?” thumbsucker reporting you’re screaming what we’ve known since 2015? Fuck all the way off.

I am at a loss for words. I have lost all hope. I kept hoping the Democrats would have a solution that would be unveiled and as the impending swearing in ceremony loomed closer, I sunk deeper into my fear and sadness. May God have mercy on those who are good and pure.

2025 I am focusing on my personal growth and health. I am sticking to a keto diet and trying to get to the gym most days. So far in the first week I have kept to my diet 4 / 7 days and worked out the last 2 days.

Yes this is a shameless pick me girl moment because I need dopamine to keep going.

Is it worth 20 MINS a day to proactively recruit and bring your friends, neighbors, relatives, businesses, anyone who is or could be a user, to @bsky.app?

If Bluesky ends up with more users than the others, you destabilize musk, zuck, trump.

I live by the rule, if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it. Or if you can't tell me what it is, don't eat it.
There has been an explosion of scientific research on ultraprocessed foods and their links to certain health problems in the last five years, which has many of us paying more attention to what we eat.

But what, exactly, should we look for? Here's what experts say.

This man and a small group of capitol police officers singlehandedly saved our democracy four years ago.

In November, 77 million Americans said "to hell with them" and voted for the insurrectionists.

Your "Back the Blue" flags are a pathetic disgrace and your patriotism is bullsh*t.

We possess the technology to create products that nearly never break. We were doing it in the 70's & 80's.

Then came 'planned obsolescence' - intentionally designing products to become obsolete or break quickly within a set time frame.

This is that- but in reverse.

Our country's education crisis has residual effects on all areas of life. If you can't read at an 8th grade reading level, you can't find work to support your life, you can't teach your children, and you can't understand discussions around major political campaigns.

I am slowly getting back into reading the way I would as a teenager. But being an adult it is much harder. Cleaning, working 2 jobs and general adulting take up too much time. In 2025 I am scheduling a read and rest day once a month and my goal is to read/listen to 20 books.

I am so glad to know that we have a group of people working to protect the written word.
I thought you should know that in 2024 New Jersey, Minnesota, Illinois, California, and Maryland have all enacted legislation that bans book bans & censorship in both, school and public libraries, and protects librarians.
