A Borges story about a guy who gets AI to summarize all the world’s information for him, and then summarize the summary, until the AI has the whole world summarized into a single word. He sits alone at his desk, staring at the word, repeating it endlessly, certain he is experiencing everything

If you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise. The woods are gone. There’s a road called ‘The Woods’ there instead, containing a load of fucking ghastly overpriced executive houses with identical shiny light grey interiors and pointless giant clocks in their living rooms.

In recent years, the CLA has become increasingly unhinged in its anti-green rhetoric 1/

Started walking at 9.30am and, aside from a half hour for lunch, didn't really stop until I walked to my kid's school to pick him up at 3.15pm. Considering that I walked 24km, I'm pretty pleased that I reached the gate perfectly on time. My feet hurt now though.

We can easily spare a tenth of England for nature without affecting food production!

20% of our land produces just 3% of our food.

Vast swathes of our uplands are owned by about 150 wealthy landowners who use it for shooting grouse, and set fire to our biggest carbon sink, our peat bogs...

A deeply disappointing government response to @wildjustice.bsky.social’s petition on banning driven grouse shooting, that even cites bullshit stats from the shooting industry

Please sign the petition, let’s get it to 100k and force a proper debate: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

As a Christmas treat here it is IN FULL.

Just seen some of the "festive" cheeses on offer in some of our major supermarkets. No idea how these came to be, but everyone involved should be flogged within an inch of their lives. Butterscotch, sticky toffee, and fudge DO NOT BELONG IN A CHEESE. Nor does fruit.

All ... lacking a poll feature, I'll try this:

1st questn: When you buy non-fiction books, are they digital or print?

2nd: If print, hardcopy or paperback?

3rd: If hardcopy, bookstore or online/Amazon?

And please repost. I'd like as many answers as possible.

Thank you!!! ♥️

London please help. I’m praying for a miracle, I’ve just got into the office and noticed my mums locket (in all these photos) that I wear every day has fallen off my neck on my walk in. My mum died when I was seven and her jewellery is most of what I have of her. I’m devastated
