Please leave the internet archive alone, they are desperately trying to save our cultural knowledge from the digital maw.
They are librarians.
Go after profit obsessed publishers and big tech instead

I wouldn't have been able to complete my master's in history under covid lockdowns without the Internet Archive's collection.

The Internet Archive pays for books the books it copies and makes them accessible to people who could not otherwise read them. Support their work. Sign the petition. Thanks.
More than 500,000 books have been removed from our lending library due to the publishers’ lawsuit, including more than 1,300 banned and challenged titles. 📚🕳️

Sign our open letter to the publishers urging them to restore access to these books. 📖✍️ #LetReadersRead

Rust docs for me are a lot more readable than the implementation at this stage in my learning. For Go it feels the other way around where looking at the implementation of a thing is usually a quicker way for me to understand what it does but that may just be a learning curve thing.

Nothing special, just really the just surface area in terms of the protocol and the code itself.

The OpenSSH daemon (all ssh daemons, really) let you talk to it quite a bit before deciding its done with you. WireGuard will just silently ignore the hell out of you.

Anyone here used both #MySQL and #Postgres a lot and could tell me how they compare for larger DBs? Mostly in terms of performance, assuming I don't need some advanced features - talking about 10s or 100s of GBs, a lot of writes but not that many reads. 🤔 #PostgreSQL

I'm on four Twitter-like platforms, God help me, and while engagement can be stochastic, I've found in general that link posts perform much better on some than others. Here's how I'd rank them in per-follower engagement with link posts:

1. Bluesky
2. Mastodon
[big gap]
3. Threads
[another gap]
4. X

Nerds are the ones who warned you about cryptocurrency, and NFTs, and the internet of things. Nerds are the ones trying to explain to you that "AI" is just overhyped pattern recognition which we already had for years.

Techbros are not nerds. They're predators.
