Nashville > Chicago. Sometimes I post photos and bad takes.
For all it's faults, after a week struggling against Clipper in San Francisco, I'm filling out my Ventra apology form. It gets so much worse out there 😵‍💫
Ventra has sent me approximately four thousand emails about updates to the ventra app and it’s still unclear to me what, if anything, they want me to do about it

Happy birthday to the Soviet linguist Yuri Knorozov who casually deciphered the Mayan script in 1952 and got pissed when editors removed his cat as co-author on papers or cropped her out of his author headshot (the only picture of himself he even liked)

San Francisco was beautiful.

Yeah, definitely see this a lot around the Lincoln/Western updates. Complaints about parking, slower traffic, etc and little to say about the people who live here and need to cross these roads on foot. At least the work is getting done though.
One thing that’s so frustrating living in a city center is the pervasive belief among suburbanites that your neighborhood is nothing more than a consumer experience for them and that the city should bend over backwards to ensure they can speed as fast as possible on their way to buy treats in it.

Why are they just playing Hey Ya! now 😭
join this stream to see a bunch of folks awkwardly stand around not looking at the screen that says ZOHRAN MAMDANI WINS RACE FOR MAYOR while Uptown Girl plays over the intercom

Happy to see the election results so far tonight, but I do wish it wouldn't have taken electing Trump a second time for Americans to realize that, oh wait, they don't actually like Trump.

Sounds like a hot take, but I liked A House of Dynamite.

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

Why do these photos make him look like he's in a German industrial band. Rammstein doesn't want you.
Here is Gregory Bovino, the man in charge of ICE agents in Chicago.

More old rails dig up in Lincoln Square; this time under Western. They should bring this back.

Hell yeah
Every TikTok I see about Chicago, I post "Chicago is the greatest city in the world" and get a chorus of "hell yeah" replies. And you may ask yourself, why do people love Chicago so much?

It's simple. Chicago is the greatest city in the world.

Took a walk downtown late last week. (It wasn't this past weekend since the loop was closed.)

I like a walk around the loop on a wet dreary day. Makes for some nice black and white photos.

When I first started watching Rob's videos I lived in Nashville and commented on the lack of walkability in the video about walkable neighborhoods in unwalksable cities. Now I live in Lincoln Square and see a ton of spots I walk around regularly in today's video.

Tracks caught fire near Western. Looked like some construction material maybe got caught around the third rail.

I've been watching the Fallout show and re-playing New Vegas again; and boy do I have a lot of complicated thoughts about the Fallout franchise. Probably to an unhealthy degree.

Replaying a Viva-New-Vegas run and still the greatest game of all time.

Destroy car dealerships and you save US democracy
whoa. Every single one of the Sinclair advert buyers on this list is automotive or automotive related (insurance). That is one aspect of the power in our society held by car companies that I haven't seen studied enough.
For those in #Sinclair and #Nexstar markets.... #Boycott the advertisers!! After all, Disney got the message that way! There may be some you can’t, but there are some you can!
