I am so, so tired. And I know you are, too.

Here's “Death blowing bubbles,” 18th century. The bubbles symbolize life's fragility. This plaster work appears on the ceiling of Holy Grave Chapel in Michaelsberg Abbey, Bamberg, Germany. After the monastery’s dissolution, it became a hospital.

For those who couldn’t read it when it was a LinkedIn post, a useful explanation by a former National Archives & Records Administration employee of some of its responsibilities that you may not be aware of.

Essentially NARA documents a lot of the functions of the state.

Have just heard the Labour Housing Minister Alex Norris on 5 Live make the unlikely claim that: “We don’t set policy as a result of political considerations.”

I like t shirts; cheap, easily replaced, none of that insufferable bullshit about buttons.
And I like the discursive, or tangential, or, occasionally, ironic nature of footnotes.

So I might buy this t-shirt

Peterborough’s ale conners were routinely suspected of being overzealous and insisting on extra tests; and there were also complaints about people claiming to be ale conners on doubtful authority… 🍻
The ancient tradition of ale conning, involved special officers who were appointed to test beer and ale to see if its befitting of the standards required. If not then they had the power to send brewers to the Tower of London!

I've seen a child with tetanus, I've treated near fatal infections after chicken pox, and I've pronounced children dead from COVID whose parents refused to have them vaccinated.

I very much do not want this AT ALL, but the US billionaire oligarchy may have just entered the FO stage of FAFO.

Strong and fair democracies are still the best defence against chaos, violence, and oppression that we flawed humans have devised.
Called it. Who needs guillotines when your country has more guns than people. Sadly, we are headed to a very dark time due to the unmitigated greed of oligarchs.
