Created a starter pack for FFXIV artists on bsky! Since a lot of artists are migrating from twitter to bsky, I figured this would be a useful resource. If you would like to be added to this list, please let me know!

I think people fundamentally misunderstand what most writers mean when we give the advice to "write for yourself." It's not an attempt to tell anyone they shouldn't want comments and engagement, but a measure to protect yourself from being disappointed if that doesn't happen.

Keep making art. (Yes, writers, that includes you.) Now, and always, is the time for the transgressive, the messy, the comforting, the taboo, the tooth-achingly sweet fluff.

Not “content”. Transformative work. Original work. Fanart. Fanfic. The familiar and the new. ART.

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore."

I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT.

We win by living our lives as loudly and truly as we can. That includes your "silly" art project.

Keep making art. Keep writing your stories. Even if they must exist in secret for a time, they are important - each of them a little act of rebellion.

Most of all, keep on living. If you can muster no other motivation on some days, then do it out of righteous spite for those who want you gone.

For those who are mad and activated (good) my one hope is that you will look for the people already doing the work. You probably do not need to invent your own new organization or group. Find the people already doing it and join them, listen to them, learn from them.
