I understand that sentiment but the cost to deliver services to those areas can be very high, even if the services are fewer or worse. This table contains data for HRM but I would think the Fredericton numbers are comparable.

Through the end of September the city of Fredericton has issued building permits for 1165 homes – 24% higher than the full-year record of 938 set in 2022, with three months left in the year. One of the latest is for an 8-storey, 85 unit apartment building on Queen Street.

Surely Autoblog must be trolling us.

Also interesting that the former Union Street (Churchill Row) did originally connect to University. You can see that the property that is now there lines up perfecting with Churchill.

I wonder how much of our success in building housing stems from the fact that it’s relatively easy to build new homes here vs. in other cities. Exorbitant government fees kill small projects elsewhere, as in this Ottawa example. ottawacitizen.com/news/local-n...

The city of Fredericton has subdivided a nearly one acre piece of land at the corner of Saunders and Smythe. One step closer to the start of redevelopment of the NBEX grounds.

K.C. Irving's late wife Jean's home on 8.4 acres in Rothesay is on the market for $5.4M. It has eight bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms, and seven wood burning fireplaces. Sadly there are no interior photos. www.realtor.ca/real-estate/...

The S80 V8 was AWD only though, was it not?

Aside from the Lancia Thema 8.32 no other non American FWD V8 sedans come to mind.

The city of Fredericton is selling a 6 acre parcel on Two Nations Crossing for a large format retail development. Any guesses as to what this could be?

Haven't heard anything – likely a challenging lot to build on. Could be a good opportunity to consolidate with the adjacent lot.

Probably for the customers that remember the old Grand Caravan "Canada Value Package" models that were dirt cheap, even though the current Grand Caravan is barely cheaper than the Pacifica.

Same with the original Sebring convertible, which had attractive front end styling than the unrelated coupe.

I always thought that the first Avenger coupe was a good looking car with mediocre powertrain options.

That chrome grille is at least better than whatever is going on here.

Pretty rich to criticize how Zelensky dresses when your VP doesn't even wear pants that fit.

The total value of 2024 construction was bolstered by larger institutional projects like the new justice building, the performing arts centre, and the Under One Sky Friendship Centre (pictured). I'd expect 2025 to go down but hopefully residential starts will increase again.

It should be noted that 2025 will have a strong start as the first phase of the York Street train yard redevelopment is a 121 unit building was not counted in 2024.

Unfortunately, housing starts dropped by a substantial 27% for 613 – the lowest number since 2019. This is entirely due to lower multi residential starts as single family starts increased by 20%.
