Last night we debated an anti-racist motion in full council. A number of people turned up angry about that fact and then decided to interrupt the proceedings

If these people truly didn't think they were racist then why would they be angry about a motion condemning racism?

Can’t believe Lib Dem Conference was already a week ago!

Here’s a quick look at what I packed into an incredible (and very long!) weekend.

St. Luke’s in Bournemouth hosted a Stand Up To Racism event on Monday and is due to be a polling station tomorrow. A flag has been painted on the door in response.

Explain to me how this is patriotism? Looks more like intimidation to me…

There are several fires in Dorset at the moment. Please follow this advice:

- Don’t travel to the affected areas
- Don’t take/upload photos of the areas
- Report any intelligence to the police. No vigilantism
- Lobby your MP for increased funding for our incredibly stretch fire service

A fantastic parade - we were behind the children from Annie who danced the whole way … can’t get “hard knock life” out of my head now!

Then an afternoon door knocking in Wimborne complete with Ally T-Shirt & rainbow body paint on my arms which prompted a few interesting conversations !

Hearing about Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana starting a new party rather than just joining the Green Party reminded me of this Life of Brian clip:

Excuse the Telegraph source here but they’re the only paper with this update

Can someone please give me one reason why Labour is trying to give foreign powers more control over our media and, by extension, our democracy?

THIS IS VILE LEGISLATION

Reform didn't even propose their leader for leader. The new Lib Dem leader ran unopposed at full council. They didn't speak to the independents about a coalition, at all

They insult all other parties and call opposition politicians traitors but are surprise when they don't want to work with them
Reform UK Cornwall’s Brass Neck

Having only won 28 of the required 44 seats to form a council administration, Reform UK in Cornwall are complaining that the other parties have formed a perfectly legal and proper administration as a coalition.

In trying to out Reform the Reform party, local Conservatives submitted an FOI to BCP Council to see how much we're spending on "DEI," the answer was "basically nothing" and they still pushed for a story in the local press

Morally reprehensible behaviour

Labour looking less and less like the Tories and more and more like Reform every day.

Still waiting on the decent Labour MPs, and I know there are many, to do something other than stand there gawping.

Resign the whip! Submit motions of no confidence! Anything else is complicity at this point!

If Labour wants to appeal to voters across the spectrum with polices that will genuinely improve their lives and unite his voting coalition then I'm sorry but there's no other option but consequential economic solutions and tax reform
Challenge for Labour is how to appeal to left and right and not lose support in both directions. Meaningful progress on boats / asylum critical. But so too is cost of living, NHS & offering something on poverty / inequality. A key issue for 2024 Labour voters.

Going to Liverpool next weekend. It is cheaper for me to fly from Bournemouth via Lanzarote on the way there and via Krakow on the way back than it is to get the train up. There’s also only 2 hours difference in the travel time. That’s a disgrace!

ICE can enter anyone’s home, and abduct and deport them to a foreign prison indefinitely because the DOJ says they can ignore the 4th, 5th and 15th amendments.

Say what you want about the US but their national and state parks are incredible. So much of the country is well managed and preserved by awesome federal, state and city government departments. Got some great snaps whilst exploring Eno River State Park today feat. Tom the Turtle
