The hilarious thing is that I will be the first councillor to see the results and I’ve not seen them yet. He’s completely making it up

That wouldn’t fit in the character amount.

Apologies, here is a less up to date article with the general gist of the legislation www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
UK to allow foreign states 15% stake in newspapers - BBC News
A ban was introduced last year - but the law has now been changed to help cash-strapped publishers raise funding.

I’m so sorry about this. From what I can see as councillors we’ve not seen anything on this matter in terms of decision making. Me and @vikkislademp.bsky.social have already raised this with the Lib Dem BCP group. This is a personal red line for me!

It was in all our leaflets

The hilarious thing is that the local Lib Dem’s ran on creating these parish/town councils in the last election but his petition recommends that we delay these until after the next election for some reason. As if we don’t already have a mandate to do exactly what we’re doing

They failed at even basic politics because they're complete amateurs and are proving why they're unfit to run anything

Also someone might want to speak to Rob Parsonage, Reform UK are abandoning their commitments on electoral reform now they're polling well. BECAUSE THEY'RE A BUNCH OF GRIFTERS!!!

Snap! I just posted basically the same thing as this

If 6,000 a year was represented as a percentage it would be 0.00007% of the total council budget. If that helps us avoid equal pay disputes like the one that cost Birmingham City Council £1.1bn then that's bloody good value
