With so many new methods buried in results-focused papers, this thread is my encouragement to groups to also publish separate protocols papers! You'll be pleasantly surprised at the engagement these papers get, and most importantly they provide real impact aiding others in their science.

A small primer on the #NobelPrize awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi today. This prize was for combining two separate fields of immunology research - genetic research on IPEX and immunology research of regulatory T cells (#Tregs), with enormous impact on biology/medicine

I’m excited to share our lab’s new preprint! We find that some exhausted T cell clones maintain the capacity form functional memory cells:

Congratulations to the @caleblareau.bsky.social lab for being awarded a prestigious grant under the NIH Common Fund Human Virome Program 👏👏

You can learn more about the lab's work below and get a glimpse into the project our #MSKPostdoc Erin Cumming is working on.
Curiosity-driven research is the bedrock of discoveries of factors that shape our health. The NIH has been the discovery engine for thousands of labs, and I'm grateful for NIH support of our group's first grant to study the virome. @idemsky.bsky.social has the scoop:

New preprint documenting a common but oft-under-appreciated source of noise, which is ignored at one's peril: "These findings reveal extensive barcode swapping during AAV pooled packaging that significantly compromises cell type specificity measurements from barcoded enhancer AAVs."
