In 1964, Patsy Mink became the first nonwhite & Asian woman to be elected to US House, a feat unto itself. Then in 1972 she became the chief sponsor of Title IX. For the first time, it forced colleges & universities to accept women into traditional men’s professions like medicine, engineering, law 💙
