Look, as a former fundie who left the chruch, we need to stop being so perplexed about why this is happening. It's simple - white evangelicalism at its heart is just fascism. Fascism is baked into American Christianity, and vice versa. Neither exist as we currenly understand them without each other

What is it with guys desperate for attention from hordes of the worst people you've ever heard of taking on Disney from the stupidest perspectives? Disney should be fought on anti-trust grounds, and probably price fixing in the Parks. This "they're too woke and won't roll over for me" ain't gonna go

I fully don't understand why the FTC and FCC can't just put out a blanket "no data mining, no selling meta-data, no robo calls" edict with extremely harsh punishments - like 10 years in prison and up to a billion in fines? It's an uncontested layup, and would go a long way to restoring trust.

Despite my handle, I'm fairly young and only somewhat grumpy and somewhat of a Luddite. That being said: your appliances - vacuum, fridge, range, toothbrush, toaster etc - do not need an internet connection. There is no reason for it except to data mine you. Stop bringing this on yourselves.

I love popcorn action movies, but I need this trend of "mild mannered guy in his dotage is actually a former mercenary/CIA operative/Green Beret, etc" to stop. Mostly so my dad quits having daydreams about beating up henchmen and gets on the treadmill.

I played through final fantasy II Pixel Remaster and really liked it. I don't get what the fuss is about with the leveling system - it makes sense once you see it in action, and it's easily gamed to have to do almost no grinding after the first hour or two. Solid game.

I had two concussions that I knew of and probably one or two that weren't diagnosed - as a "pretty good but not good enough to play college football" offensive lineman, so if you are good enough to play college or pro, your brain is probably Swiss cheese.

I feel like people don't realize how common syphilis was pre 1945 or so? It was everywhere. That's why you used to have to get a blood test before marriage. And a huge public health campaign reversed it in about a decade, which I feel wouldn't happen today.
