Are salmon hats back?

In 1987, Southern Resident #orcas were seen carrying dead salmon on their heads for a period of about six weeks. But as quickly as the fad started, it vanished — until now.

Everyday is like a NatGeo doc in Coral City and yesterday we were privileged to observe a school of jacks hitting a baitball of pilchards around the Cam for more than 15 mins straight! It’s a sign of good fishery health in Biscayne Bay and Miami!! #coralcitycamera #miami

Sharing this photo of a native oyster bed in one of our survey sites here for the first time. This was my coelacanth moment, especially as many deny these oyster habitats even exist. Same as eels, Ostrea edulis (the species and the habitat) are threatened and yet we keep managing them as a fishery.
