Good lord, shopping at Aldi is such a pleasure. There wasn’t one convenient to our old house, so we never went regularly — of course, there’s a brand-new one opening very close to it just as we move away. Oh well.

But there’s one near son’s apartment and near our new house. I’m a 100% a convert.

I like how we didn't learn a fucking thing from the 2008 financial crisis. Well... except for the billionaires who learned they could get away with literally anything.

I've been banging on about the negative social utility of SO MUCH of what's underpinning economic growth: genAI, the explosion of sports betting, crypto, etc. and in my conversations you'd think that "money isn't everything" is trivially obvious, but no...

Pete Hegseth has no business lecturing anyone on "the fog of war." The fog of hangovers, yes.

My friends, there is no ‘Department of War’ or ‘Secretary of War’ in America.

There is a Department of Defense and a Secretary of Defense.

Neither has the right to murder.

“Kill them all” is a confession to murder under American law.

Not sure who needs to hear this but a US President can not pardon someone being charged for war crimes at The Hague.
