Honestly bluesky lost me when it became basically impossible to post my food pics 😭

I often forget bluesky exists and that's mostly bc I never succeeded in leaving ig and I haven't been cooking as much, but also bc I accidentally click on the discord app instead every time I look for the bluesky icon ✨️

I am perfectly adaptable to my plans changing. However if I make A Plan, and that changes, I will shut down and maybe cry.

Ugh work in progress, autistic skill regression is the worst bye

Also, can we talk about the lack of visibility of women being held in ICE custody from media outlets. It really gives the appearance that only men are being deported and/ or these women are inconsequential bc even in this instance the patriarchy is hard at work.
A Haitian woman who was among those held in allegedly inhumane conditions has died after more than 10 weeks in immigration custody.

At least six others have died in ICE custody in fiscal 2025, which began in October, ICE data shows.

As she mentioned in her book and discussed in a 2016 interview with me, the federal agency that deported her family never inquired as to her whereabouts. No social worker ever appeared to ask where she would live or how she would eat.

The story of the American citizen child separated from her deported parents is shocking and appalling—and sadly not entirely uncommon. This happened to actress Diane Guerrero, who came home from school as a 14 year old to learn her entire family was detained and then deported.

My stove wasn't working last weekend but I was craving french toast.. so I made baked french toast for the first time. 7 out of 10, it was good but lost points for texture.

I used cranberry walnut bread from the farmers market and made a caramel-esque sauce from maple syrup, brown sugar, + butter.

Amanda made such a good point the other day like why are we not talking about the sims to dnd pipeline fr

I made honey chipotle salmon with roasted zucchini- 9 out of 10. I think it should have a bit of sugar to help give it a little crust but the overall taste was lovely.

Despite being sick I'm making a new recipe tonight for the first time since the halibut florentine, my immune system will just have to figure out how to function before dinner

We also need to remember that "I was just following orders," was not an acceptable defense for atrocities in the Nuremberg trials, and keep that energy going.

I wholeheartedly recommend having a partner who tells you how beautiful and loved you are while you have horrible food poisoning (or a stomach bug?? Really not sure at this point)

Being sick is the worst for many reasons but the number one reason is that I love food and being sick messes w my appetite and my sense of smell/taste boooooo

High functioning autism? More like high masking autism that makes me want to jump out the nearest window the second I'm overstimulated

Protests in Greeley today too, pretty proud of this city lately
To the world:
We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom.

So it's autism awareness month. Personally, I hate that. We're aware of autism. Being aware doesn't change the stigma. It should be autism acceptance month instead. We're not a problem to be aware of, we're humans who need to be accepted. Especially now as the anti vaccine rhetoric escalates.

Was really hoping we could abolish the 5 day work week, raise minimum wage, implement free healthcare, and erase student loan debt/make college free.. but instead we're sinking deeper into a fascist depression.

We're all so tired and barely scraping by.

This is my weekly 🦋 complaint, thank you.

I made chicken tacos and it was excellent (my house still smells like seared ancho & citrus), 9 out of 10. Another new to me recipe, made of new to me recipes. Jalapeño, lime cilantro crema, & homemade pico de gallo on top of marinated shredded chicken & oven warmed corn tortillas.

Blackened halibut spinach florentine was a huge hit, I heated a little baguette on the side (just a discount loaf from kings). 12 out of 10, easy to throw together on a weeknight. Recipe coming soon!

I made chicken tortilla soup last night and I'm going to attempt to actually compile my notes and post my own recipe. I've made variations on this 4+ times now and did a better job taking notes every time than I usually do so wish me luck!
