Quite.
The Australien Government has made an ad about the Social Media Ban for Under-16s, and it's surprisingly honest and informative.

I didn’t vote for the social media ban; the real issue has always been tech companies allowing harmful behaviour to run rampant on their platforms. But with the ban in place, the Govt mustn’t forget to ensure social media platforms also clean up their act. #auspol #politas

Yes and Yes (potential and need for regulation to protect genuine e-bikes)
Conquering hills, commuting without a sweat and carrying cargo – e-bikes encourage more people get out of their cars.
E-bikes could slash our reliance on cars – but overpowered illegal models on the roads make us all less safe

♥️ this thread! Thanks so much. Great advice, even for ‘micro advocates’ (who do this extremely part-time 😎)
The global phenomenon of “bikelash” has become one of the biggest barriers to implementing interventions that make our streets more liveable, accessible and sustainable. So how do we best manage it as advocates for change? Here are eight strategies we recently presented at the Velo-city Conference.🧵

The ICJ has ruled countries have a legal obligation to tackle climate change.

This decision backs the concerns of Pacific nations like Tuvalu that are at the forefront of the climate crisis.

Will major fossil fuel exporters like Australia step up?

Harvard professor Steve Levitsky has spent decades studying democracies and how they fail. He's now raising alarm bells over what he sees as a slide toward autocracy under President Trump.

About time, but great news.
This is huge. HUGE. Oral contraceptive pills to be added to PBS for first time in decades. Funding for IUDs, long lasting contraception, and menopause supports. This is one for the history books. Seriously, BIG.

The comments are interesting. While not dismissing them, I think back to growing up in the Netherlands when cycling infra def wasn’t there either (& all the rain!). Took gov investment, increased cycling, more investment, more cycling, etc to where we are now. Positive return on investment now
Why are cycling rates so low in Australia?

And if we want more people to have the choice of active transport options, what can we do?

As @mhharrington.bsky.social explains, the benefits include cleaner and less congested cities, and happier and healthier people. #auspol
