The head of Denmark’s army should not be in Greenland, working to deter US attack. That is a bad use of his time, weakening everyone in NATO, Denmark and the US very much included.

Or, rather, it would be a bad use of his time, except the US president decided to threaten conquest against US allies.
Footage shows Danish troops arriving in Greenland as part of a new military deployment. Among the personnel who landed on the island is Major General Peter H. Boysen, Chief of the Danish Army Command. #Greenland

My affinity for French cars just grew exponentially.
French vehicle manufacturer Renault will start building long-range attack drones at its Le Mans and Cléon plants.

Renault will produce up to 600 of the drones per month, with some employees voluntarily transferred from the automotive chassis and motor lines.

Moscow is celebrating because they finally got a multi-polar world order, but I don't think they envisioned this including a European continent armed to the teeth.
The war, the geopolitical uncertainty and the new arms race started by Putin have left Europe with no choice. Europe must be ready for this race, and Russia will lose it like the Soviet Union 40 years ago. From today, Europe will arm itself more wisely and faster than Russia.

Exactly. By far the fastest way to end the war would have been to increase the support for Ukraine so Russia would stop attacking.
If the US had continued to support Ukraine, we may have been months away from the end of the war. The Russians would not have been able to continue to fight for much longer. They were making almost no progress, taking huge casualties.

My thoughts on the disastrous meeting between Zelensky and Trump. Trump is beginning to realize that his peace plan is failing, and he tried to bully Zelensky into submission. It didn't work.

My question to Americans: How does it feel to be on the same side as Russia and North Korea at the UN? Does it feel like you're heading in the right direction?

I often hear that we need realism, not idealism. But realism never brought anyone peace and never liberated any oppressed nations. Only the dogged determination to defend our values ever achieved the victories we cherish. Only dreams and hard work can make us great again.🧵17/17

Putin’s only hope is that Europe stays in a self-induced coma, unable to seize frozen assets, unable to manufacture weapons, unable to move troops in any significant numbers. Unable to defend the values that were chosen for very good reasons.🧵14/17

Starlink in Ukraine operates based on paid contracts. If it’s being used as an extortion tool, then other countries should consider it a potential security risk - just like Russian gas used for blackmailing. If Ukraine is cut off, it would be wise for Europe to reconsider its use

As hurtful as it sounds, the United States is siding with Russia by demanding Ukrainian resources and threatening with action for refusal to comply. We are being robbed by the world's two largest nuclear powers. Welcome back to the 21st-century Molotov-Ribbentrop reality

It means Europe must move away from all American enablers. Including GPS.
The mind boggles. The scale of change required is very large.
But it must be done.
Dependency on Starlink casually weaponized by US administration.

Conclusions for Europe and anyone else in orbit of former US-led alliance should be crystal clear.

Europe can fairly easily replace American military support for Ukraine, but it will require massive investments to replace U.S. in NATO.

Watching the news does not give me the impression that people understand number 3.
I hope people understand what we are seeing here.
1) Trump and Putin are preparing a common plan to dictate to Ukraine.
2) Ukraine will surprise them (at least Trump) by refusing.
3) The War will continue.
4) The role of Europe will be decisive.

Europe won't survive sleeping through another wake-up call. We should jump out of bed and throw on a shirt. We should do what we can, with what we’ve got. And we’ve got a lot. Here's how to step things up as the US steps down:

How many more times are we going to choose to lose to Russia? How many millions of people are we going to abandon to oppression? Why aren't we making it harder for the Kremlin to sway elections and choke democracies one by one?
