One problem is that the hard line NIMBYs who understand that filibustering can kill projects will exploit people's good faith to endlessly draw out public input processes so nothing ever actually gets decided or built.

Not the first time, unfortunately. But it seems to be getting worse. This happened to me a few weeks ago:

The Pershing Bikeway is beautiful, but the level of physical protection is not actually that great. Especially given that the VRUs killed on the street before were killed by drunk and drug drivers going at high enough speeds to easily get over the curb.

Sounds about right. You can take the free "Flyer" to Old Town and switch to the green line. Or the 992 to Santa Fe depot. Some people also say the fastest is to take the "rental car center" shuttle and get off at W Palm st which is one block from the trolley, although I've never tried it myself.
