The Grinch is a hit again because he fills that Nightmare Before Christmas and Invader Zim niche. The reason a new character isn't in this role is because all of the "weird" kids entertainment of the past decade has been mascot horror and that stuff sucks.

One of the things I've come to appreciate as a parent is how good adults are at throwing and catching things. Yesterday I flung a small shovel across the yard and into the exact pot I was aiming for and I didn't think about it at all. A toddler can only dream of this skill level.

Walking to find our seats for Jackass Forever we saw a friend with his teenage son already seated. His kid had never seen any Jackass before. What an opening skit for his introduction to it. Also during Jackass 3 an older guy in front of us almost puked multiple times from laughing so hard.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

A car waiting to exit the drop-off lot this morning would not budge. Both crossing guards were shouting that they needed to move. Eventually the nearby cop came over and tapped on the car to get their attention and they slowwwwwwly pulled out. How does this not trigger a sobriety test?

More should be said about how ICE is depending on a clearly faulty facial recognition technology. It makes me think, what's it matter if they ever actually achieve AGI if we have people willing to fully trust something that obviously doesn't work?
WOW. So this is obviously a huge violation of this man's rights, and it illustrates a few things we're seeing broadly:
- DHS officers are ignoring peoples' IDs and instead requiring screening through their own systems

I think most people's issue with college in America starts in high school where they sit you down and show you a chart about how you'll make more money if you get a bachelor's degree. In many various ways this is a really insane way to start the conversation of "is college right for me?"
