Since 2000, political donations from the richest 100 Americans have increased nearly 140x.

They collectively spent over $1B in 2024, amounting to 1 in every 13 dollars spent during the election.

Is it any wonder why so many regular people feel like they no longer have a voice?

Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

While the stated purpose of all of these actions is fighting drug trafficking, Treasury Sec. Bessent let slip last week that oil prices could drop “if something happens down in Venezuela.” trib.al/cYTEJc3

Officially, it doesn’t mention the use of military force, but it's likely to make it easier.

Reminder: Continuing to use the single-member districts that make these gerrymandering wars so deadly is a choice.

Congress has the power to elevate House elections to proportional representation, and to end this pointless and barbaric blood-letting.
NEW: The Trump administration has filed an amicus brief at SCOTUS supporting Texas' request for a stay of the decision striking for the congressional map. #txlege

Dems in 5 states used #RankedChoiceVoting in the 2020 presidential primaries. GOP voters in the USVI & Maine did the same in 2024.

With RCV, voters can support their favorite candidate without worrying about "wasted" votes. And parties get less toxic campaigns and strong nominees w/ broad support.
Democratic politicians and activists are quietly lobbying to upend the way the party picks its presidential nominee by urging the use of ranked-choice voting.

It's a tool that drew national attention when it propelled New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to a decisive primary win.

Around 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending. As wealth concentrates in the richest 10%, the rest of America can’t afford to buy enough to keep the economy running.

This is a huge problem — and even America’s most powerful CEOs are starting to sound the alarm.

Better cities are possible, and evolutionary.
Three years ago, Utrecht completed the transformation of the Sint Josephlaan and turned an unattractive, unlivable car sewer into a green city boulevard.

It shows that even Dutch cities were not always like they are today and have often come a long way in becoming better versions of themselves.
