Can somebody explain to me where the 275,000+ workers laid off in March are going to find jobs?
Thanks.

The detention of Mahmoud Khalil puts all Americans fundamental rights at risk. And if you can’t see that because you oppose his politics, well that’s exactly the reaction Trump and his cronies are counting on. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Some of his readers have asked Mike Masnick @mmasnick.bsky.social why his technology news site, Tech Dirt, has been covering politics so intensely lately. www.techdirt.com/2025/03/04/w...

I cannot recommend Mike's reply enough. It's exactly what readers need to hear, what journalists need to do.

The world is watching.
And convinced Americans can't be bothered. Too comfortable, too misinformed, too arrogant to realize what's actually happening to them, and through them, to all of us.

You have proven yourselves too naive to stop this coup. Prove us wrong. We beg of you.

Fealty to Donald Trump will not spare you from his cruelty.

It's strength — not weakness — that curbs his baser instincts.

Now is the time for us to be strong.

I have to say it broke me a bit that these packets of lifesaving food assistance say on them: "From the American people"
The stuff is made in US factories by US workers. It's made from peanuts and dairy grown in the US.

Many of the packets say on them: "From the American people."

Saving lives and spreading American good will for a relative pittance: You might call this "efficiency."

Sunday reading: Three questions to help us engage Trump’s dangerous outlandishness.

We need to resist the temptation to constantly rage against Trump’s latest antics – while making sure the silliness and buffoonery of Trumpism doesn’t obscure how dangerous the situation is.

This week’s piece:
Navigating the Nonsense and Propaganda of Clownish Authoritarianism
Ignoring what Trump says won’t work. Constant outrage is not a viable strategy either. We must find a more productive way to engage Trump’s dangerous outlandishness
