Replacing the head of Bureau of Labor Statistics with a stooge, proclaiming that crime is up when it’s down, and taking over the Smithsonian are all about trying to take over facts.

But facts are facts whether or not Trumpists agree.

The GOP's greatest superpower is the sheer cartoon evil of their policies. "They are taking healthcare from the poor so they can give tax breaks to millionaires" makes you sound like a hysterical SJW but it is straightforwardly what they are doing.

2) they are building concentration camps and concentration camps are the right words to use
3) they are banning books and book bans is a fine way to describe the myriad ways they are banning them

for all of the praise of law enforcement we've seen since Saturday, it's now clear cops had at least two opportunities to prevent Vance Boelter from murdering Melissa Hortman and her husband but failed to do so.

Your now-regular reminder that no tax cut has ever paid for itself.

Ever
CBO just estimated the macrodynamic impact on the cost of the GOP bill - i.e., "is this bill going to help the economy so much that it pays for itself?"

CBO said that the bill pays for just 3.5% of itself - w/ a tiny upfront economic boost that declines over time. Legitimately embarrassing for Rs.

After the 2024 elections, I lost count of how many influential observers complained about Democrats and their implied “disdain” for parts of their own country.

Republicans’ *overt* contempt for parts of their own country tends to generate less conversation.
Peter Navarro today has repeatedly demeaningly referred to the West Coast as the "left coast" and the East Coast as "the elitist coast."

Amazing. Right out in the open: "universities are free to do research as long as they're sympathetic to the administration."

I want to personally play this clip in the face of every fucking clown who spent the last several years pretending that the left is the "real" threat to free speech.
Linda McMahon: "Universities should continue to be able to do research as long as they're abiding by the laws and in sync, I think, with the administration and what the administration is trying to accomplish."

What’s interesting/ignorant about this is that we *do do the big things here - the AI and the weapons systems. And we don’t do T shirts and textiles at scale.

Once again, he has no idea how any of this works.
Trump: "We're not looking to make sneakers and t-shirts. We want to make military equipment, we want to make big things. We want to do the AI things with the computers. But the textile -- you know, I'm not looking to make t-shirts, to be honest. I'm not looking to make socks."
