There is no 'congrats' loud or enthusiastic enough for the Penn State grad students, who didn't just win their union today, but did it by an utterly absurd 90 point margin.

I'm so proud and happy for them!!!!!

Marxism has caught a lot of flak for some of its most aggressively modernist claims and practices. Some of the criticism was fair and some wasn't, and as a hardcore modernist I would like to see some self-reflection by those who replaced the critique of capitalism only with critiques of modernity.

You can disagree and argue as much as you like but the point of evaluating something scientifically is that not every statement should be given equal credence because evidence matters

Years of restricted trade, limited control over imports, and stunted development have made Palestinians in Gaza deeply reliant on humanitarian aid. This dependence has allowed the basic necessities—access to food, water, fuel, medicine—to be weaponised. cil.nus.edu.sg/blogs/the-la...

2025 offers little causes for celebration; the unprecedented challenges unfolding before our eyes urges us to prob more deeply into the strategy and ethics of critique in the present moment. I am so grateful to be doing this together @ntinatzouvala.bsky.social and a stellar group of brilliant minds.

One need not be a CCP apologist to be able to see that this is an incredible achievement for humanity as a whole and that increased belligerence towards China is at least partly motivated by hatred toward a state that can achieve things other than AI bubbles www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-chi...
Analysis: China’s CO2 emissions have now been flat or falling for 18 months - Carbon Brief
China’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions were unchanged from a year earlier in the third quarter of 2025, extending a flat or falling trend that started in March 2024.

Just in case you thought this was about trans athletes. This was solely about creating a fascist and racist gender bureaucracy over what constitutes being feminine enough to be considered a woman.

They're targeting cis women who may be intersex and banning them from sport.

Labour's lies were an insult to West Midlands Police.

But more important, their intent was to put the people of Birmingham in harm's way.

And I hope the people of this city never forget it.

It's a pity that there was no way predict that Thanksgiving was coming. But sometimes it's these kind of unforeseeable contingencies that matter for politics.
My read of it (with very incomplete information) is scoring more political points would have required destroying Thanksgiving travel and at least 10 Dem Senators don’t have the stomach for that.
