We need to talk about AI.
While AI is here to stay, if kept unchecked, it can be used to increase workloads, threaten job security, and undermine academic integrity. Register here for next week's session: nteu.info/ai

I welcome this from the minister, but the unwillingness of uni governing bodies and senior officials to do the right thing is proven. A major shift is needed and it starts with dismantling the assumption that people at the top will do the right thing. ministers.education.gov.au/clare/improv...

Solidarity to @nteunion.bsky.social comrades at #ACU.
Striking is a last resort.
But when a millionaire VC gets a 5.8% pay rise, and then staff doing the front-line work to achieve ACU's mission get offered 2.5%, staff should be congratulated for standing up for themselves and their university. ✊

Today #UniCanberra disclosed $1.5m in underpayments to casual staff. @nteunion.bsky.social raised these issues in bargaining & simplified the Agreement. Despite that, staff were still underpaid.
The issues are historic, but UC governance still needs fixing.
