one of the biggest contributors to Elon’s loser energy is that he desperately wants to be cool, but doesn’t understand that a big part of being cool is appearing unaffected. he’s one of the most affected men of all time.
Joyce Carol Oates owned Elon so hard he's spent the last day posting about movies he hasn't seen in 15 years

it’s important to understand that Nate Silver’s entire consciousness is filtered through the lens of being a gross nerd his entire life. the opportunity to feel like he’s one of the cool kids is something he can’t pass up, it’s load-bearing for his dork psyche.
the hipsters, they’re ordering double frufru mocha soy frappuccino. doesn’t anybody order a black coffee anymore

this is a good microcosm of being a lefty on twitter now. you can spend hours trying to push Grok to the left if you want, but even if you succeed, Elon’s just going to press a button to move it right back

if you’re only a casual Tesla watcher you might not realize that Elon has mostly pivoted away from cars and is now constantly talking about populating the earth with humanoid robots
Optimus will overturn the fundamentals of economics to an extent that we may not even need money in the future, Musk says, and yet he still recommends people "hold onto your Tesla stock," which seems like a kind of mixed message.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

This week’s episode is Garcetti v. Ceballos, where the Court said that free speech is important, but not as important as being able to fire your employees.

brett is seeing everyone post about “kavanaugh stops” and he’s losing his mind
Brett Kavanaugh's behavior during today's second oral arguments has been incredibly obnoxious and rude. He is so eager to kill a service member's lawsuit against a negligent government contractor that he keeps interrupting other justices, raising his voice, and getting emotional. Weird and erratic.

So there were some AI-generated videos that purported to show Black women ranting about SNAP benefits, and... Fox News is reporting on this like these are real people. They're not! They're AI!

This is truly insane. Total unreality. www.foxnews.com/media/snap-b...

they’re saying i’m not brave enough to get a slice of ice cream cake out of the freezer, eat it, immediately get a tummy ache, and then complain to my wife about it all night. that’s because they don’t know me.

call me crazy but i think inviting someone under federal indictment to an interview, peppering them with questions about the indictment that you know they can’t answer until you cause them to leave, then calling it a “Katie Porter moment” is not good journalism
I just had a Katie Porter moment with congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh. The interview lasted 3 minutes.
