It is so incredibly revealing that when a journalist challenges Trump directly (about those dumbass tattoos), his response is not, "no, I'm correct, you have bad information." The notion of accuracy -- correspondence with external reality -- doesn't come up at all. It's, "you're not being nice."

They should just take down the Statue of Liberty and replace it with a giant dude in an ICE jacket with gun pointing out and Lazarus’s poem can be replaced with a placard that just says “GTFO”

Holy shit. My congresswoman Laura Gillen, who I KNOCKED ON DOORS FOR, voted to censure Al Green. In this moment, she stood with Republicans and not decency and the rule of law.
I feel so betrayed. God damn it. I called the office & gave them an earful. She gets nothing from me again, ever.

You all realize the Canada/Greenland/Panama thing is a staple of fascism, right? Fascism requires not just enemies within, but enemies without, & America's traditional geopolitical foes are all authoritarians Trump admires. Yes, there's economic rapaciousness to it, but the militarism is the point.

It’s the first real return to office day for many people after the holidays and it’s cold and people have nice new coats and I have to get something off my chest.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.
They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.
The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.
