As spring approaches it is vital to remember: dead and dying trees (and other plants) ARE habitat.
Do you want to feed birds and help them raise their young? It’s easier than you think. Simply leave those leaves or dying tree alone. That’s all there is to it.

happy woodpecker wednesday! you may be aware that acorn woodpeckers store - and can remember the location of - thousands of acorns, in “granaries” like this one. BUT did you know that they also shuffle those acorns between holes as they dry, ensuring that each acorn fits perfectly in its hole?
