Disabled people were one of the first groups targeted by the Nazis.

They coined the term “useless eaters”.

They tested the gas chambers on us.

They knew most people wouldn’t fight to save our lives.

That’s why the President using the R slur is so dangerous.

We’re not expendable

okay so we've got

-- DHS goons handcuffing a U.S. Senator
-- Marines in LA violating posse comitatus
-- political assassinations in MN

And that's just, like, the last couple of days

Hey folks if you're wondering why Palestine is connected to our fights against ICE and murderous cops, remember that we send them to Israel to be trained there.

I've personally deposed cops who bragged about how much they learned about use of force from these programs.

Bit of trans joy for the day ~ I moved to MN from AK this past year and was able to get my new state ID today. AK does not recognize a third/non-binary gender, but I got my x marker today!!
Also went for the enhanced ID to travel on domestic flights & international land/sea until i get a passport!

When you’re dealing with invisible chronic illness, you have to endure a ton of gaslighting. People don’t believe what they can’t see.

You learn to hide your pain. You learn to mask, deliver a convincing “I’m fine”.

The cruel twist is the better you are at hiding it, the less people believe you.

Beautiful article for International Women’s Day about invisible disability.

Are we invisible? Or are we made invisible when people don’t believe us? Don’t validate our experiences?

Many of us hide our disabilities because of rampant ableism, but even when we stop hiding, folks choose not to see us
We aren’t invisible, we are made invisible
It is Women’s International Day on 8th March. Let’s talk about women’s health and how we are made invisible

This International Women’s Day I’m saying Merci Gisele. Her unwavering commitment to ensuring rape & abuse victims know that the shame is NOT theirs has inspired countless women to come forward & share their own stories.

Abuse, neglect & medical misogyny are serious issues we must address #IWD2025
Gisele Pelicot, Medical Misogyny and How Disabled People Face Increased Risk of Abuse
Most of us have heard Gisele's story. It's a reminder that even men you trust can harm you. Did you know that she went to her doctors for help? A look at how medical misogyny contributed to her abuse.

The Great Disability Myth
Disability isn't increasing because of "fraud" or "overdiagnosis." It's increasing because people age, because we've lived through a pandemic, because austerity made people sicker. But Labour wants to use a moral panic to justify taking even more.

Being disabled isn’t some abstract concept. It’s not a moral failing. It’s not something you can “try harder” their way out of.

It’s something that can happen to anyone at any time.

Once it happens to you, you will understand how little support exists. Help us & your future self will thank you.

Somehow people are still trying to convince me I'm overreacting because disabled people are not the "real" targets, and I'm starting to think you just mean we're not real people.

I spent about three hours today color coding my bills and organizing my budget.
It feels more in control now after the chaos of my recent hospitalization and my partner's car needing urgent repairs. Money will always be stressful but I get to pretend I have my life together with all my highlighters

When you hear “Make America Healthy Again” please remember who the Nazi’s targeted first.

They wanted to make Germany healthy and “pure”

The Aktion T4 program mass murdered people with disabilities. They tested the gas chambers on us.

Please do not obey in advance. Speak out. Save lives.

I've had nurses physically assault me before because I was "complaining" (advocating for my needs.) I have been actively hurt by people meant to care for me in my most vulnerable moments because I was not pleasant and palletable and easy.
A lot of Disabled people don't have the privilege of not caring if others like them

It can be vital to your survival that you are seen as likeable

I've had ppl I depend on threaten to pull services when I didn't respond to deeply invasive questions abt my life in a happy way

Do one thing today that makes the world a safer more accessible place.

Wear a respirator. Get an air filter. Share or donate to someone’s mutual aid. Find ways to make events more inclusive for disabled people.

Include us in protests, resistance efforts & community building. Don’t leave us behind.

I've cried and crashed out so many times over the past four days because of health professionals treating me like an inconvenience rather than a person and community/society minimizing the ongoing pandemic and removing safeguards and resources because only people like me would need them.

“Persons with disabilities are expected to stay ‘quiet’, not be ‘sensitive’, not take things ‘seriously’, not ‘panic’, to just ‘ignore’ and just let things go.

We are told not to ‘overthink’, not to ‘make a fuss’ by calling out Ableism, exclusion, and inaccessibility.”
