Remasters of games make old games more accessible to new players (and make it easier for old fans to replay them). And more often than not, remasters help fund new games. They're not taking funds from new games or preventing new games from being made.

With the current version of Playstation Stars ending, my favorite memories are all the rewards being too expensive to earn, watching everyone be confused by the leveling system, and intentionally not interacting with a Playstation® as to not unlock the Jim Ryan trophy by accident.
