AOC: ICE has less accountability than virtually any law enforcement agency in the U.S., yet they are some of the most well-funded, operating with impunity—and we just saw them murder an American citizen in cold blood in the street.

Today once again proved that everyday citizens protesting their government are braver than the titans who own the largest media corporations, run the biggest law firms and lead the most powerful technology companies.

/7 Here, the Trump Administration’s lies about the murder victim did not impact her property rights because the Trump Administration had already murdered her.

In short, our federal government can usually kill, kidnap, abuse, and lie about us with impunity.

I‘m getting this question a lot (can there be a defamation lawsuit over DHS people calling the murder victim a terrorist?) and the answer is fairly definitively no for the following reasons.

First, as a general rule you can’t defame the dead. No defamation actions on behalf of dead people here.

Ken - on the civil suit side, the victim is a private citizen, not public figure, and DHS and Noem don't seem to care much about the truth in the statements they're making. After the criminal proceedings, would defamation be a possibility?

There is no legal justification, whatsoever, to use military force against a NATO ally like Greenland.

If any military member participates in this without congressional authorization, they are following illegal orders.

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

If Trump is really stealing spending power from Congress then it would be insanity for Democrats to vote to fund the government later this month. Shut it down until the president stops wiping his ass with the Constitution.

We need Democratic fighters who will defend the rule of law and deliver government by the people. Join us.
