The U.S. will be a superpower emeritus when Trump and Musk are done looting it. Three what-ifs that led to Citizens United and an America in existential crisis. Plus @tiffanymuller.bsky.social on how to fix it, if we can. My latest @thebulwark.bsky.social. www.thebulwark.com/p/the-road-f...
The Road from ‘Citizens United’ to Trump, Musk, and Corruption
A ‘naïve’ Supreme Court delivered lawless greed and cruelty. We’ll have to save ourselves, if we can.

Et tu Benioff? I didn't really care that they use slack, it's a commoditized platform, but what makes you think they are doing anything for the good for the country? Oops, I forgot you caught Ellison's evil brain worm. FML

Every single Republican senator, and a few dems, need to be held accountable for the damage these traitors unleash on the American people. I don't care if some of them voted no. If they were really opposed to the nominees they should have made their case to the public and the media. They didn't.

While Trump is busy renaming things, why doesn't he just call it the Department of Injustice now.
Is the Justice Department cutting breaks to people who seem loyal to Trump?
The department dropped a case against former Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, withdrew from an investigation against Rep. Andy Ogles, and moved to dismiss the case against New York Mayor Eric Adams.

Let me see if I got this right... Trump offers our enemies the perfect recruiting tool by telling the world that we will remove Palestinians and occupy Gaza, while at the same time he is eliminating large swaths of the FBI, CIA and FEMA.

I mean... WTF?

Pete Hegseth isn’t DEI. Daniel Penny isn’t DEI. That’s not what DEI is.

They’re just grossly unqualified for their jobs and add no value that any replacement legacy job applicant wouldn’t bring.

So stop saying “it’s DEI” like it’s a clever commentary on the situation. It’s not.

It's really not that complicated... Trump ran for office to stay out of jail. But like last time, he never wanted to govern, so he sold the country to anyone that would help get him elected. His weakness made him the biggest mark on the world stage.

Wired is doing the job that the legacy media is intentionally neglecting. Thank you @wired.com. Honestly, I think we are at a turning point and hoping real journalists call out the sins of their employers. This needs to happen. Come on journalists, show us that you really have some courage.

Clearly a payback for the oil & gas industry campaign contributions. You would think DOGE would support these efficiencies. C'mon Elon... step up and give me just one reason not to hate everything about you.
Those awesome USPS EVs might be jeopardized by Donald Trump's stupidity
The USPS has awesome new US-built EVs coming to save costs, reduce pollution and improve driver comfort, but those plans could be cancelled.

I will block anyone telling me I need to get out of the echo chamber. Since Musk took over the other site it has become a right-wing propaganda channel filled with Russian bots and few content filters. I welcome any thoughtful Republican to BlueSky, but it has to be a two-way conversation.

He and Miller are preparing deportation orders for "pro-Hamas radicals". Don't say we didn't warn you. But I'm done caring about what happens to those that voted for him or cast a protest vote against Harris.
Trump's plan to quell protests: 'Deport pro-Hamas radicals'
The vast majority of the protesters, though, appear to be U.S. citizens. Biden, so far, has not terminated any academic student visas due to participation in protests.
