Thanks, I haven't ridden over there since the recent changes

What part of town is this in?

Hallmark needs to start an urban planning and transportation engineering consulting company.

Every one of their movie extolls the virtues of walkable, bikable, mixed-use neighbourhoods with lots of third spaces for casual social interactions.

Forgot the trip type total graph:

confine myself to a car because I'm afraid of the harm that cars can cause. Just like the parent who doesn't let their child walk to school because of traffic and so becomes part of that traffic, nothing changes if we aren't willing to make the change. So I'm going to keep on riding.

I'm physically okay, but really shaken up. Since then, biking has been a very stressful part of my day instead of the emotional outlet it usually is. I've had many close calls before, but never impact. I'm not sure how long this trauma is going to viscerally affect me, but I know that I can't...

Also, cheers to the hardcore folks who biked with bamboo “cars” attached to them.

Almost forgot YTD raw data:

I'm right there with you with that mindset. I only meant that those 48 miles likely wouldn't have occurred otherwise.

Lastly, here's the rest of the YTD charts

I expect to drive less to mountains and bike more in the city. Looking at the accumulation charts and observing the shift in mode share from last month, I believe that the Car-Multimodal gap will close in the next two months. Won't be upset if it doesn't pan out, but that's how I see the data moving

I am immensely proud of this feat! I traveled to the mountains three times this month, commuted by car once🤢, and got two Ubers on a night out. I completed every other trip by some other mode! YTD I am running a 60/40 (car/multimodal) split, but as the ski season slows and the weather gets warmer...

With the pickup at a halt, I proceed through the intersection while they lean into the horn. One block later, in a bike lane, I'm left thinking how the lack of a truly connected bike/ped network puts my life in danger. My choice to avoid a hill seemed rational, but seven blocks almost killed me.

Risked my life for no reason but spite. As drivers merged and came to a red light, I filtered through on the right. When the light turned green, a pickup passed me so close, my left shoulder closed their mirror, just to stop 20 feet later attempting to make a right turn. 🧵2/3
