My review for “Hagia Sophia in the Long Nineteenth Century,” edited by Emily Neumeier and Benjamin Anderson is out now in the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians. It is a small piece, regardless it took a village, I thank İpek Türeli and the editorial team at @ucpress.bsky.social

Jeremy will join us at Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED) in Istanbul. He’ll talk on Julian’s ambiguous relation with Constantinople. During Q&A, we might even make him talk about Metal too.
Here's the event flyer for my upcoming lecture in Istanbul later this month! If you are around, I welcome you to join us. Please help spread the word for others who might be interested. More information here: anamed.ku.edu.tr/en/events/th...

“Shame on you,” said Microsoft employee Ibtihal Aboussad, speaking directly to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman. “You are a war profiteer. Stop using AI for genocide. Stop using AI for genocide in our region. You have blood on your hands. All of Microsoft has blood on its hands.”
