This is a fun thread. I was also thinking about this exact same thing with the Game Gear just recently after I played Devilish. I noticed it had sequels on the Mega Drive and DS. Not sure a single other GG-original IP (SEGA or otherwise) can match it!
Small exercise for a few weirdos: Can you think of any game series that wasn't by Hudson that originated on the PC Engine and survived past the demise of the console? Off the top of my head Zero-4 is probably the longest running, but there's also post-PCE one-offs, like shubibinman or cosmic fantasy

I get why it happens but goddamn do I wish anything could hit as hard on the timeline as something that sucks that everyone hates written by or about the worst person you know. I wish something good or interesting was able to get anywhere near the traction some shit that sucks does.
